Young Architects in Modern Development Contest of projects 2017

Architecture of new lifestyles.

Since 2010 the contest has been an important component of the International Real Estate Investment Forum PROESTATE exposition and program. Many young architects participating in the contest have presented their creative projects to the Russian and international business community.


Contest is organized by: the Russian Guild of Property Managers and Developers and PROESTATE Events, supported by the Russian Union of Architects, Association of Architecture Workshops, St. Petersburg Committee of urban development and architecture (KGA).

Contest participants: students and graduates of faculty of architecte (under 35 years old).


Main objectives of the Contest:


  • Present the creative potential of young architects and their vision of the modern urban environment to the Russian and international real estate professionals
  • Draw attention of the professional community and authorities to issue of balanced urban transformation, especially in the historical centers
  • Support talented young architects and deliver their ideas to the target audience


Nominations 2017


  • Placemaking //Venues and places of attraction for business and citizens: shopping malls and community centers, transport interchange hubs, creative and cultural centers in residential districts
  • New Wood // Use of wood in architecture
  • Second birth // Renovation of buildings and urban environment
  • Home beyond doors: environment and infrastructure // Comfortable urban environment and infrastructure in residential districts, landscape and urban design solutions
  • New generation of offices // Office projects and workplaces for modern lifestyle





June 25 – August 10, 2017

Projects of contestants are received, placed on websites, judged by the Jury. The Jury chooses semi-finalists, their projects are prepared for exposition at PROESTATE.


September 13 – 15, 2017 PROESTATE (Moscow)

Exhibition and presentation of short-listed projects at PROESTATE. Voting of PROESTATE participants and professional Jury.

Discussion: Architecture of new lifestyles


November 20 – 26, 2017 Urban Week (St. Petersburg)

Exhibition of the Young Architects Contest finalists within the Urban Week and PROURBAN programs. Topical events. The winners are chosen by the professional Jury. Award ceremony.


87 projects from 24 Russian cities (Tomsk, Volgograd, Moscow, Voronezh, Tiumen, St. Petersburg, Samara, Ekaterinburg, Yaroslavl, Ufa, Rostov-on-Don, Vladikavkaz, Novosibirsk, Nizhniy Novgorod, Ulianovsk, Irkutsk, Makhachkala etc.) and Ukraine participated in Young architects in Modern Development Contest of projects 2016.

Projects of 19 semi-finalists were exhibited at PROESTATE forum in September in Moscow.

The Contest winners were awarded at PROURBAN forum in November in St. Petersburg.


Viktoria Kurilchenko, graduate of St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, with the project Cultural center won the main prize: Traineeship in Helin & Co Architects (Helsinki).
